Registration Requirements and Procedures

The Airworthiness Department thru Aircraft Registration Section, outlines the requirements for registering, revalidating, and deregistering Unmanned Aircraft.

APPLICABILITY

All unmanned aircraft must be registered except RC planes and model aircraft used for recreational purposes.

Registered UA must:

  • Display a registration marking (e.g. RP-U123A) on visible parts like fuselage, body or wings.
  • Use weather-resistant materials for markings.
  • Maintain a non-transferable materials for markings.

REGISTRATION VALIDITY AND REVALIDATION

  • The original registration is valid for 12 months
  • The revalidated certificate can extend up to 5 years.

DEREGISTRATION

An unmanned aircraft must be deregistered if:

  • it is lost or irreparably damaged;
  • sold or transfer or a foreign national, and;
  • registered in another country (markings must be removed).
